SLaM Early Intervention Service (Southwark)

South London and Maudsley NHS Foundation Trust (SLaM) is the main provider of mental health care in Southwark.

The Early Intervention Team supports people, aged 14-35, when they first begin to develop the symptoms of mental illness and before they reach ‘crisis point’. We provide assistance to people who live in the London Borough of Southwark.

Our team includes health and social care professionals. We work with people to help manage their mental illness, encourage independent living and maintain their health. We aim to offer recovery for the long term.

We aim to see most people in their own homes, in the community, or at their local community mental health team (CMHT) base.

We provide between two and three year treatment programmes, co-ordinated by a designated support worker.
