Contact a Family – Southwark

Contact a Family is a national charity for families with disabled children. They provide information, advice and support. The charity brings families together so they can support each other. They campaign to improve families’ circumstances, and for their right to be included and equal in society.

The focus is about improving the lives of families with disabled children. They achieve this by working directly with parents and carers, and the charity is driven by what families tell them is important.  The charity’s vision is that families with disabled children feel valued and are strong, confident and able to make the decisions that are right for them.

The charity provides a wide range of services for families. From workshops to parent support groups, the full list of events can be found here.

They also have parent carer forums, groups run by parents and carers of disabled children from a local area in England. Their aim is to make sure that services in their area meet the needs of disabled children and their families.
